Visit to the Imperial War Museum Library [TG2v/IWM]
We are pleased to offer a cpd25 visit to the Imperial War Museum Library which houses over 250,000 items in its collection covering twentieth and twenty-first century conflict involving British and Commonwealth countries. Along with material on military units and campaign histories, they also have biographies, manuals, items relating to the economic, social and cultural aspects of war, journals, newspapers, ephemera, propaganda and e-resources.
The visit will cover: a brief history of IWM Library, an introduction to the Collections Access & Research team, an overview of the IWM library collection and highlights display, including some recent acquisitions and a tour of the Research Room and Services.
The main entrance where we will meet has 9 steps – if anyone has any accessibility requirements, they are advised to use the West entrance and it would be helpful if you could let us know in advance so that we can liaise with the IWM library staff.
