Visit to the Bodleian Libraries [Event Ref. No. TG2V/BOD]

This tour will cover the Old Bodleian, Radcliffe Camera and Gladstone Link areas, and will feature some of the improvement work in recent years in the areas of Health and Safety and accessibility. The visit will then progress to the Sheradian Library of Plant Taxonomy on South Parks Road. Here the ‘Flora Gracea’ material, which is considered to be Oxford’s finest botanical treasure, will be available to see

Meeting instructions:
The group should meet in the Old Bodleian Library Quad (also called the Old Schools Quad). There is a statue of the Earl of Pembroke in the Quad in front of the main entrance where the group will be met. The map shown on the following link shows the buildings included in the first half of the visit.

N. B. due to the historic nature of the buildings, unfortunately it is not possible to include mobility-impaired visitors in tours of this type. All participants need to be able to manage stairs and a fair amount of walking.
