Planning and delivering library inductions [TG3/Induction]
Twitter: @cpd25_M25 #cpd25
Library inductions are an important part of welcoming students to the university and introducing them to the ways in which the library service can support their learning. New technologies have enabled innovative approaches to the induction process, allowing for greater interaction between students, library staff and the library itself. Deciding on the best approach to library inductions and ensuring it is engaging and interesting for students is a continual struggle, particularly given constraints on time and budgets.
This event seeks to cover everything from planning to the inductions themselves. Aimed primarily at those delivering library inductions, it will offer a space to share experiences and learn from peers.
As well as a session on planning sessions, the event will features speakers from Anglia Ruskin, Coventry and Canterbury Christ Church University sharing their induction practices.
