Exploring the Utilisation of Data in Library Services: Investigating ways in which libraries can leverage the abundant data they gather to elevate and refine their offerings.

*THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL AND A WAITING LIST IS AVAILABLE*

In recent years there has been greater emphasis on using data to inform decision making within the sector. Libraries inherently excel at accumulating data, yet where do we start at turning this wealth of information to our advantage? Data can serve as a tool for future proofing our services and guiding decisions, however it can be quite an overwhelming task and often it’s a struggle considering where to start and can be a highly emotive subject for some.

This session will address starting points, collecting and analysing data, creating a data culture within your service, challenging assumptions, maintaining trust while investigating data, and ways to communicate your findings such as data visualisation. In addition to this there will be some case studies, showcasing useful examples of changes implemented following data analysis.

We are delighted to have Sarah Maule Head of Library Innovation and Planning and Aqil Zahid Library Manager (Environment) from Queen Mary University of London speaking at this event.
