Speaker biographies:
Ian Clark is the Academic Services Manager at the University of East London. With a long-standing interest in ethics in librarianship, he has worked closely with colleagues across the university to highlight the issues around generative artificial intelligence, particularly in terms of societal bias, “hallucinations” and privacy concerns.
Kari Morley is Subject Librarian at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) supporting the Engineering, Built Environment, Computing and Business courses there. She first became interested in the use of AI in higher education, its impact on academic libraries and student behaviour at the start on 2022 and has been a little obsessed ever since. She has spent the past year raising awareness and encouraging colleagues across ARU to talk about AI and its potential for supporting students, academic staff, and researchers but also highlight the issues it brings too.
