Annual SLA Conference 2017: Knowing Me, Knowing You
2017 is the 10th anniversary of Cpd25’s popular annual SLA Conference, which is designed for those who supervise staff, services or both. This year’s conference is about self-development. We will encourage participants to heighten awareness of themselves and think about how they can realise their potential as an individual and also as a team member.
Over the course of the day we will help you explore personal effectiveness and to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Armed with this knowledge, what can you do to fill any gaps and develop yourself further? What support is available and how do you go about getting it?
This will be a highly participative day with plenty of opportunities for networking, enabling attendees to share their experiences and best practice.
Our facilitator will be Mary Foster. Mary has a background in human resources and specialises in personal and organisational development. She holds an MA in Guidance and is a qualified Executive Coach, NLP Practitioner and Workplace Mediator. She is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Leadership & Management. Through RKB consultancy, she is currently facilitating Leadership Programmes for King’s College London, University College London and Royal Holloway University London. She has recently worked with Bodleian libraries delivering change management training. Mary’s specialisms are leadership development, personal effectiveness, change management and team effectiveness.
We are delighted that Lambeth Palace has agreed to host the conference in their impressive Guard Room. Included in the day is a tour of the Library, the Great Hall, conservation studio and garden (showing the site of the new Library), as well as part of the Palace itself.
This event is open to all, but would benefit in particular Senior Library Assistants, Information Services Supervisors, Library Assistants, Information Assistants (or their equivalent).
