Inclusive Staff Development: sharing knowledge across the library [Event Ref. No. TG1/ISD]
Twitter – #cpd25ISD
In a fast-changing world, it is essential that academic librarians continue to explore and apply new systems and technologies. They must also respond to changes in their institutions and the wider higher education sector, as well as scanning for good ideas from other libraries. Meanwhile, on the ground, they face an ever-widening range of enquiries from library users with high expectations. How can we pool all this knowledge and best ensure that library staff of all levels are well-informed about what is going on so they can both assist their users and contribute to the development of their library services?
This afternoon seminar will hear case studies from academic libraries that are attempting to do just this. While it may be of particular interest to library staff who are involved with programming staff training, we hope it will appeal to any librarians interested in approaches to staff development. The three presentations will be followed by an informal discussion session, allowing delegates to come together and share ideas.
