Special Collections Event [Event Ref. No. TG5/SPCOL]
This is a chance to hear about and also see some of the special collections from three scientific institutions: The Zoological Society of London, The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and The Royal Society.
Outline Programme:
1.30 – 2.00pm: Registration
2.00pm: Ann Sylph, Librarian of ZSL (Zoological Society of London) talks about the very varied library and art collections that she is responsible for
2.45pm: Lynn Parker, Assistant Illustrations Curator & Kiri Ross-Jones, Archivist and Records Manager (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) talk about their collections of historic photographs of Kew and about the book featuring these that they have co-authored. A selection of photographs will be on view as well as copies of the book itself
3.30pm: Rupert Baker, Librarian of the Royal Society, talks about the history of the Society and its library collections, with some items on view. There is the possibility of a tour of the library, dependent on numbers.

Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
