Founded by Thomas Carlyle in 1841, the London Library is now the largest independent lending library in the world. It has a proud tradition of serving generations of readers, writers, scholars and researchers by lending material from its extensive collection, which now exceeds one million books and periodical volumes.
This visit will feature a tour of the collections and a short talk about the history of the library, including free refreshments.
