Disability Law Update
cpd25 Disability Law Update
RCOG Committee Room 1
4th April 2006
9.30 – 4.30
Are you up to date with disability legislation? Do you want to know more about the new Disability Equality Duty? Libraries lead in providing equal opportunities to all, and it’s essential that your library is able to provide access to all your users without discrimination. Wendy le Messurier, who led a popular workshop on SENDA and the DDA 2 years ago, will be running this workshop, which aims to provide an update on legislation and requirements in the morning, and practical advice and case studies in the afternoon. She is keen to tackle any issues you would like to be raised, so if you would like a book a place, please also let us know what you would like to see included in the day. Suggestions already received:
Changes to the definition of ‘Disability’ within the DDA – e.g. to include Cancer, Depression etc
Duty to promote Disability Equality
Copyright (Visually Impaired Persons) Act
The day should be informative, and interactive, so please come along prepared to take part!
Booking Info:
Cost is £65 for cpd25 members, £75 for M25 affiliate members and £90 for other institutions, including lunch and refreshments.
Please note that there are limited places available for this event. Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
