Directors’ Briefing: Staff Diversity in Libraries
Directors and Heads of Service (from both within and without the M25 Consortium) are invited to attend a Directors’ Briefing on Staff Diversity in Libraries. Directors should feel free to send a deputy if unable to attend themselves.
Gary Loke, Director of Knowledge, Innovation and Delivery, at Advance-HE, will facilitate a discussion with Directors about how to encourage and develop under-represented groups within the LIS profession using the Race Equality Charter (REC) as a framework.
Hong Anh Nguyen, Information Service Manager at the King’s Fund, will present a case study on a reverse-mentoring programme that they implemented where staff members from under-represented groups mentored members of the senior leadership team on a range of initiatives and policies.

Cost:
- M25 Consortium members receive one free Directors’ Briefing place per institution per year. Additional places cost £50
- Non-M25 Consortium members £75
Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
