This two-part, online training event will be delivered by anthropologist Dr Donna Lanclos on observation techniques. Donna will look at techniques that can be employed to better understand our users’ habits and equip you with skills to learn some practical techniques.

Programme:

Wednesday 6th November 14:00-16:00

  • Ethnographic approaches—a brief introduction
  • Practice mapping, reflecting on own practices.
  • Observations–how to and what you will need to do.
  • Discussions on what observations you can do.

Wednesday 20th November 14:00-16:00

  • Coding exercises that can be used on your own work.
  • What can you explore further at your own place work and what methods will help?
